McQueen Katie - Photoshop a touch too touchy?

#Kate Middleton is a slim girl, that is a fact that cannot be denied by anyone with a set of good working eyes. Now she’s been thrown into a debate, a debate that has been burning, on the blogs and in the magazines for a while now.

When it comes to Photoshop, how much is too much?

We all like to look good in our photos, and some of us (not me of course, nudge, nudge) are guilty of opening Photoshop ourselves for those special occasion photos. Fixing the lighting, cropping bad angles, adjusting the settings. But any of us go as far as to make ourselves look…thinner? Give ourselves a bigger bust, or whiter teeth? See, I think there is a fine line when it comes to trying to achieve personal perfection, at least in photos. People know what you look like in real life, and by over doing a photo before you stick it on Facebook, or your blog of choice for example, are we just kidding ourselves? Or are we just following the trend?

What does any of this have to do with the future Queen of England then, you ask? Well, Grazia Magazine has been the subject of complaints from consumers based on their overly ‘shopped photo of Waity- Katie, compare and contrast with these photos if you will.

On the left, we have their version of how she ‘looked’ on her wedding day, and on the right, how this already stunning girl actually looked.

Is there such need to make actual human beings look like… let’s face it, scary mannequins in order for mass audiences to find the appeal? Her public opinion is still on a high, her face would have sold magazines either way, in my opinion. I know they were aiming for a shot of her on her own, and since one without Prince Wills just didn’t exist they made do! But, in making do, they made themselves look a tad foolish by taking the trend too far, and creating Princess Barbie on the cover of their issue and a unrest among their readers.

Katy Perry For GHDs!

Katy Perry can now add another product endorsement to her resume. This time it’s for UK haircare brand GHD (which stands for “good hair day”). GHD is a high-end brand known primarily for its stylers, which are flat irons that also make curls and waves.

Personally I'd be totally lost without my GHDs, yes they are expensive but they are just such amazing quality and leave your hair smooth and fuss free in a mater of seconds never mind minutes! I love them so much and think that they are an amazing investment!

Kate Moss For Dior!

A commercial for Dior Addict lipstick starring Kate Moss has been released (or inconveniently leaked).

The 90-second spot shows the blonde supermodel getting dressed in a lush Parisian apartment overflowing with statement-making gowns and heels as Duran Duran plays in the background. With perfectly painted cat-eyes and slick black nails, Moss seductively applies the glossy pink Dior Addict lipstick before stepping out into a paparazzi cloud as she’s driven away to Dior’s Spring 2011 fashion show.
