Toner Thursday.

Toner, at first when I was newbie I figured they were all talking about toner for your printer and was confused as to why it was a 'thing'. But when I quickly figured out that it was in fact a skin care component, I felt silly, but hey I was only 13. So I can forgive the confusion I think on that one.

For a long time though I never really fully understood why it was a skincare step, until I finished secondary (or high-school) school and started to really take care of my skin.

Cleanse, tone, and moisturize is the key phrase where good daily skincare is concerned. With cosmetics, skin toner or means that there is a separate lotion or wash designed to cleanse the skin and shrink the appearance of pores, usually used on your face. Toners can be applied to the skin in different ways: On damp cotton wool, (most frequently used method), spraying onto the face, or  by applying a tonic gauze facial mask - a piece of gauze is covered with toner and left on the face for a few minutes.
As with all things cosmetic choosing the right toner all comes down to your personal skin type.
If you have oily skin, choose one accordingly, combo skin and dry as well, they make different types of toner for all skin types. Including sensitive, ‘normal’ and dull.

Some of the best toners I have used have been +lancome Loreal  used with one of my favourite moisturizers- the HydraZen from Lancome (expensive but fab!)

The pink version is not only lovely to look at but has a super silky-soft formula that gently tones and attempts to rehydrate your complexion. I found that it almost instantly soothed tight, dry feeling skin after a shower or after a cleanse, and it comes with honey and almond seed extract for that little bit extra sweetness. They're also alcohol free which I think is extremely important with toner as it stops any extra drying out of the skin that might occur when cleansing and toning. They retail for £28 to E34 depending on where you purchase.
