Balance Me : Extra Care Radiance Face Oil - Review!

Having previously tried and reviewed the Balance Me eye cream (find the review here if you’re interested!) I was curious about the brands other items for all skin types, so when I received this *BalanceMe Radiance Face oil, I was thrilled to give it a whirl. Now I know what you’re thinking, probably what I was thinking when I first saw it ‘face oil, but won’t that leave me with an oil slick?’ and the answer is ‘really not!’

 I promise!

Even though I have dry / dehydrated skin I was still a little bit weary of applying a straight oil to my face just in case I would end up with a full oil slick. So, I applied it on a day where I knew I wasn’t going to be seeing a lot of people, again, just in case. And well, I needed not have worried because as soon as I applied it (two of three drops is really all you need) and rubbed them between my hands to warm the oil up it went on my skin like a dream and really absorbed itself in there within a minute or so. Right away I could notice a glow, even ten or so minutes after the application had completely dried itself into my skin, there was still a little something, and my skin felt soft and smooth but not at all greasy which is what I was worried about.

The Balance Me peeps promise us that their product is 100% natural, which is a fantastic promise to make when so much of our cosmetics and skincare is so full of secret nasites that aren’t helping our skin or our pockets very much at all. They also promise that this:

Highly emollient yet super-absorbent, our 100% natural powerfully active face oil with Amazonian buriti nut oil, Roman chamomile, yarrow and benzoin feeds skin lacking in lustre with a rich, replenishing blend of skin-boosting and smoothing ingredients. Suitable for all skin types, including combination complexions.

When I started using this, a few weeks ago now, I applied it before makeup in the morning and after cleansing at night for over a week straight to see if I could see any results in that time period. I noticed of course the radiance promise came true and that I could even get away with some light BB cream during the day instead of full foundation and still have that brightened glow to my skin that I loved. The second thing that I noticed at the end of the first week was the texture of my skin. Now, I don’t have many acne scars or ‘lumpy’ surfaces on my face – but the dryness affected areas with little annoying patches and by the end of the first week I noticed they’d been reduced seriously to what they were before.

Now I had a few tiny blemishes here and there whilst using this, but another thing I found was – they seemed to reduce when I would apply this. Not completely disappear or anything, but they were smaller and seemed to heal a little faster than normal – could that have been down to the chamomile or benzoin (also known to have healing properties – and acts as an  antiseptic) or the combo of all the ingredients or just the oil itself? I think it might, either way it is a nice little side effect right?

The @BalanceMe Radiance Oil retails for £30 for 30ml and £15for 10ml and while that is a little  pricey, it is what I would view as a luxury skincare product. And since you literally only need a drop or two at a time, it isn’t something you can't really over-use, even using it twice daily now, there is only a little dent in the amount used. So, I really think it would be worth the price if like me you’re having issues with dry / dull skin and are looking for that extra little something to pep your skin up! Well worth a try, and I can't wait to try out the rest of their range!

Balance Me 'extra care' Wonder Eye Cream Review.

I’m a long time getting around to this eye cream, mainly because it’s sat in the ‘use soon’ pile and I’ve sort of forgot it was there. About a month ago, I re-discovered it and decided to use it religiously to see if it did what it said on the tin…er tube

So far, it has not irritated my extremely sensitive Irish girl skin, and it has left the very delicate under-eye skin looking rather hydrated. It's a super light formula and you only need the tiniest bit to get around both your under eyes. I started by squeezing about the size a small amount on to my ring finger, then dabbing my two ring fingers together to that I end up with a little bit on each that I can then dab on very gently under my eyes with both fingers.

The Balance Me people promise with this product:

A triple-action eye cream to help revitalise weary eyes, smooth away dark shadows and reduce the appearance of fine lines with super hydrating hyaluronic acid to help brighten and smooth the delicate skin around the eyes.

This for all skin types, I find it works well with my dry/dehydrated skin as I often get tiny patches under my eyes or right by my nose, particularly when the weather is cold, which in Ireland is practically all the time! I also find I often miss that area when moisturising my face with regular moisturiser, so it is good to have something that targets just that area that is light and not cakey or heavy on such a delicate area.

The product also claims to be 99% natural and cruelty free and filled with ingredients such as ‘blended Roman chamomile and skin-brightening lemon, cucumber oil and witch hazel with super hydrating hyaluronic acid, anti-oxidant spruce knot, softening and smoothing virgin coconut, rosehip and carrot oils. It all sounds great, right? And I have to say while I was skeptical on whether or not it would work – for me it was the patchy issue as well dark/grey blue shading under my eyes (I blame constant glasses wearing for this!) and one or two fine lines, I was on the lookout more so for the brightening affect. I have to say after a month, I have seen some decent improvement, and I feel if I went to bed at a decent hour I might even see more!

Wonder Eye Cream retails for £11.00 for 7ML and £20.00 for 15ML.
