Origins Original Skin Super Serum - Review!

Origins asks (like the rest of your body) is your SKIN also having a quarter life crisis? Oh God, is it?? Is this something else we need to be panicking about? Hm. If so, this might be the product you seek!
As a long-time fan of +Origins this was introduced to me during the +Debenhams  #DebsFoylesideBeauty blogger evening back in August, in sample form of course, with just the tiniest amount proving invaluable to my skincare routine within days.

I was quick to go back and buy the full size of this beauty in a 30ml size. It's been a staple in my makeup-bag since!
This little beauty has taken me  from country to country, county to county, by bus, train and across the pond and back by (extremely dry and icktastic) plane! I usually break out like crazy as soon as those plane doors shut, so I was not looking forward to a 7hour + long flight there and back - I figured the results would be horrendous by the time I landed.

But guess what?

It was amazing.

Not a breakout in sight, no patchiness, no dry tightness, not a blemish nor a cyst (cyst acne is it's own special hell, any sufferers out there will agree with me!) appeared either.

Miracles?

Small ones at least!

It's light-weight and works wonderfully as a base for your foundation, with or without moisturiser!  It is as they say, for those of us 'transitioning from their twenties to their thirties' so it's perfect for me in the first few weeks of my new decade. +Origins  also say that this little pink bottle of perfection is a 'super-serum that helps the skin look fresher, brighter, and smoother while it minimizes the appearance of imperfections. Formulated with Canadian willowherb, Persian silk tree, and a potent blend of actives to support smooth, refined pores and boost skin’s overall quality, it features a blend of optics that help soften and blur the appearance of pores and imperfections, leaving skin looking healthy and glowing.' I have to say after trailing this for the past 3 months, I agree.  Agreeable to my sensitive skin too I was just thrilled to find a serum that didn't leave my skin feeling greasy or tight as they can run at either end of the spec from time to time when they dry, this was soft and supple and left my skin feeling the same way.

God bless Canadian willowherb??

When this runs out, or maybe even before I'll be sure to restock and maybe add in their 'Retexturisng Mask with Rose clay' as I'm curious to see how that stands up next to it's sister serum.

The Original Skin Serum retails for $39 or £32 depending on where you are!

Debenhams Foyleside Beauty Night!

A Beauty Haul in a Beauty Hall!
Hi!
The beautiful view of the Foyle & the Peace Bridge from our meeting spot!
Last night I had the pleasure of attending a local shopping favourite of mine, Debenhams - Foyleside in Derry City for the relaunch of their new and improved (and sparkly and amazing, let's be real here,) Beauty Hall.  And let me tell you, it was fantastic!

Cupcakes & The Craic
For years +Debenhams , and particularly their beauty floor has been the go-to place for all my cosmetic needs and wants. Recently, with the much anticipated arrival of +MAC Cosmetics (arrived July 17th!) the people at Debenhams-Derry decided that a complete overhaul was called for, and the makeup makeover took place.

The new Beauty Hall features high end cosmetic brands such as Chanel, Urban Decay, Bare Minerals, Dior, Estee Lauder, Clarins, Lancome and Benefit, and of course, now, MAC!

Sparkle and shimmer from UD's counter + some goodies from the amazing gift bags given!

J'adore <3
The night started off with the #BeautyBloggers being greeted by the lovely PR guru Laura and a select few of the fantastic staff from the store, where they provided us with bubbly, cupcakes, and the buzz about what we'd see on the tour of the over hauled beauty hall. It was also brilliant to get a little catch up with so many of the #FABB ladies from Belfast / around NI that I rarely get the chance to see since all our events are far flung for me where as this was, finally, local! So, getting to see them and to meet some new faces that are blogging out of Derry and the North West is just great!

UD blush heaven!
Swoot Swoo +MAC Cosmetics new makeup vanities

We were then walked through the various counters that are available in Debs-Derry and some of the new services they provide. You know, on top of being The Makeup Mecca of the North West now (as dubbed by me, but it seriously is I swear!).

How cute is this pick N mix from +Clarins ???

At +Benefit Cosmetics we were talked through their newest service in-store waxing! They have a pretty little set up of a private room (Benefit-ed out to the max, you'll even have your own Bene-towels and robes!). This is a great service for anyone on the go, you have a one stop shop - literally - for any necessary waxing, a quick facial, and a professionally applied makeup application all without stepping outside! Here for this! Right?

The Benefit ladies on hand to show us all their new products! So lovely!

Wax on, Wax off!

Hello again!
The staff on the night could not have been more welcoming or helpful, or generous come to that as we all received multiple gift bags with an array of goodies from the floor. Ranging from Gucci perfumes, Benefit makeup and skincare (the new eye-primer BB cream that I'll be sure to review on here soon!) Urban Decay eye-shadows and blush samples, Clairns skincare perfect plane sized too! Some sweet Origins skin mask and serum samples and a very sleek +Dolce & Gabbana wallet - perfect as a makeup pouch or as I plan to use it, as a wallet for my travel documents and passport when I fly to New York in a few weeks! All to name a few! It was like Christmas, as it was teamed up with a generous £50 voucher for the Beauty Hall - that I didn't have time to spend on the night but as it's local I'll be sure to be back - maybe close to my birthday next month to treat myself!

Such an education over at +Clinique UK !

Big +Origins fan so sampling their newest range is exciting! Love the pale pink too, very sweet.

Urban Decay Makeup Artist at work! <3

Derry already has so much to offer in terms of culture and history that it's wonderful to see from a local perspective, the investments continuing to be made by big companies such as the new addition of MAC and the expansion of already successful businesses such as +Debenhams that employ and empower so many.

+Benefit Cosmetics UK & Ireland goodies <3

We need a bigger backdrop! :o

So if you haven't already, you definitely should pop in, see the fab staff and treat yourself! There is literally so much to choose from, if you could have spent a day in there before, you could spend a week in there now!

Thanks for reading!

Skincare: Origins DrinkUp Intensive Mask Review!

I had heard good things about this product in the blogger-sphere lately, and the final endorsement came from +Lellie Moi  during our lovely Blogger meet up / sleepover at the @Malone Lodge Hotel in @Belfast. There we chatted away about all things skincare and the ins and outs of being a blogger. One of the recommendations she gave me (aside from continuing my obsession with handbags!) was this beauty. I love trying out new products, this blog is nothing if not proof of that, and this was no different. Having heard such good things about it's skin rescuing qualities and what not, I went straight out and got this to give it a real try. After testing it overnight at the blogger sleepover, waking up feeling tired but looking much more refreshed than I felt, it was only right I gave it a fair trail to see how it worked on a more long term basis.

First off, it smells AMAZING. Like I can't even really describe it but it's fruity and fresh but not too much... sort of smells like frosties sweets if you know that smell? But there's also Apricots and Mango scents in there too, it's a feast for the senses first of all. Secondly, it's super absorbent in that it doesn't sit on the skin at all like other 'masks' tend to do - and it's a fear one might have when committing to wear it overnight. The fear of smearing it all over your hair, or your pillow in your sleep? Legit fears! But fear not with this one, it melts into the skin like a regular moisturiser, but you feel it there for ages and when you wake up in the morning to wash your face ... my god my skin just felt so soft and smooth and like there was a real boost to the system before I would apply my day cream and put on my makeup.

They say -   Helps skin feel smoother and hydrated
Skin depends on water for its youthful functioning. But all day long, skin loses vital moisture. And the busier you are, the more it loses. This intense moisture replacement mask deeply quenches compromised moisture reserves and builds a reservoir for tomorrow. Japanese Seaweed repairs skin's barrier to prevent future dehydration and signs of premature ageing.
  • Best for dehydration
I say - It's true. You can use this more than the twice a week that is recommended if you like me find your skin unpredictable and on the dry side of the scale (pun intended? idk... ). It will draw out the toxins in the skin too, which is to be expected with any mask so afterward you may experience a small regional breakout but mine was tiny, and didn't last long at all, and for the results I felt in my skin that lasted so much longer than any little breakout issues. I use this now on pamper nights, or when I'm feeling tired and want my skin to have a boosted glow the next morning. It retails in the UK/Ireland for £22 - E29 for 100ml which is fantastic considering the size and the little amounts you only need to cover your face in a thin layer at a time. I purchased mine in +Debenhams Derry if you're wondering! And the Origins sales girl was just fab and friendly which is a big plus!  You can get it online too which is fab here at +Origins

All in all 10/10 I love it!

Lustable Fashion! The Lust List!

The Lust List for EIC is basically my way of jotting down items I love and filing them away for when I let loose on the purse strings, drain my poor wee bank account, and hit the shops. It's difficult being sensible with money - but it's amazing the things you learn to live without on a resessionista's budget!
For the next splurge I have my eye on these beauties!
ASOS Popper Front Fit And Flare Mac - £78.78.  I really need a mac coat in my life, I know they are a capsule wardrobe must-have and I want! But, I've forever been annoyed by how standard macs fit me, being a shortie I have to hem everything. This fit and flare from ASOS looks like it might be the perfect shape for me! Definitely on the list! Don't you love it? I looove it.

Another one from ASOS - apparently I have jacket fever tonight, is this babe.

Now usually I steer clear of beige because when I was a blonde it seriously washed out my already ghost-like shading, but since going back to my roots - literally - I have become more accepting of it, but still waiting. This however is just too cool. I love how effortless it looks, classic with a modern edge for sure.

Debenhams SS13 Vicenza Necklace, £18. You know I love me a crazy statement necklace!

Mango Crystal bib!

Going dotting for this sleeveless blouse from +Next
 What's on your Lust List?
